MONTE CRISTO, BRAZIL

Daterra is recognized as one of the most advanced and consistent producers of quality coffee in the world.  Over the past 35 years they have worked to track every single part of the process their coffee goes through.  Daterra is also known for their commitment to sustainable farming,  and maintains Rainforest Alliance Certification.  In addition to maintaining certification they have set aside more than half of their farm - 3,250 hectares - as a nature preserve.

Consistent quality is how Daterra built their name, and they did it through control.  They carefully monitor the rainfall on every part of their farm, along with which varietal is grown there.  They then process the coffee using state of the art milling equipment, and sort out defects using gravity sorting, optical sorting, and UV color testing. All of these efforts result in superb quality of coffee, and consistent quality year after year.

Daterra’s success has also enabled them to do revolutionary things for their workers.  They provide profit sharing, free day care, and health care to their employees.  Daterra is setting the standard for how to produce quality coffee while caring for workers, and the environment. monte-cristo-brazil.jpg

Customer Reviews

Rating 0/5 Based on

Micro-lots:

Available for limited times in small quantities, our carefully curated micro-lots are single origin coffees at their purest. Not only are the beans sourced from one farm, they're sourced from one micro-lot of land on that farm, ensuring a highly consistent flavor and experience. This is a wonderful way to sample the true, amazing potential of coffee. We've selected these lots despite their small quantity because we see something in them that's truly special--and we think you will, too.

Single Origins:

True to their name, single origin coffees consist of beans sourced from a farm or community in one, specific region. Seasonal selections from around the world, our line of single origin coffees focuses on the highest quality product from coffee producers who take their work as seriously as we do.

Blends:

Handcrafted from exceptional single origin coffees, our signature blends are carefully developed in our Hudson Valley roastery to please drinkers day after day, year round.
